DRIVING ANXIETY ISSUES - A CHALLENGE IN DRIVER BEHAVIOR

Abstract

One of the common problems, such as to influence negatively the activity of driving is driving anxiety. This can occur both in relation to the work as a whole and its specific elements. This paper presents few studies about driving anxiety from the perspective of experimental research. Thus, the present article highlights in a literature synthesis form the conceptualization of fear to drive as a problem that could not always be the result of traffic accidents. Moreover some authors highlighted that social anxiety has a spectrum of fear, especially fear of one's performance on the grounds of being criticized or evaluated negatively. According to Mitrofan and Dumitrache (2010) “ambulofobia”, or fear of driving a vehicle can significantly affect the professional sphere and the social, but more than that can lead to increased risks for other road users and for driver affected by such an event phobic.
